Grade 2 Teacher - Oshkosh, WI

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Start Date: September 1, 2026

Pay Rate: Up to $45.00/hour , depending on experience and qualifications

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 2 Teacher to join an elementary school team in Oshkosh, WI. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic growth, social development, and lifelong learning. This position requires strong instructional skills, effective classroom management, and a commitment to helping all students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and learning standards.

  • Provide effective instruction in core subject areas, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that supports student learning.

  • Establish clear learning objectives and deliver instruction that meets those objectives.

  • Assess student performance on an ongoing basis and use data to guide instruction.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students.

  • Provide timely feedback to students and families regarding academic progress.

  • Maintain accurate student records and complete required reporting in accordance with district guidelines.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional materials, technology, and educational resources to enhance learning.

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, administrators, and support staff.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school improvement initiatives.

  • Create attractive and functional classroom displays that support learning and celebrate student achievement.

  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking skills.

  • Follow all district policies, procedures, and educational standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Wisconsin Act 20 Literacy Requirements

Candidates should be knowledgeable about or willing to complete required Wisconsin Act 20 literacy training. Areas of focus include:

  • Phonemic Awareness

  • Decoding Skills

  • Alphabet Knowledge

  • Letter-Sound Knowledge

  • Oral Vocabulary

  • Rapid Naming

  • Phonological Awareness

  • Word Recognition

  • Spelling

  • Vocabulary Development

  • Listening Comprehension

  • Oral Reading Fluency

  • Reading Comprehension

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required.

  • Valid Wisconsin Teaching License or eligibility to obtain Wisconsin licensure.

  • Ability to develop and implement engaging elementary instructional programs.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous elementary teaching experience, preferably in Grades K-3.

  • Experience implementing literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading.

  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Act 20 literacy requirements.

  • Experience using educational technology and student data to drive instruction.

  • Strong family engagement and communication skills.
