Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Geologist to join our Oshkosh, Wisconsin Remediation team. We are seeking candidates who can immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects and have a desire to promote growth in existing and new markets. This full-time position within our Environmental group will support site investigation/remediation projects.

This position is expected to begin in May 2026.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate field project experience, require a strong focus on health and safety, be detail orientated, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, can work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and sediment sample collection and geological logging and interpretation.
  • Task or project management and lead teams for field activities consisting of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and sediment sample collection and geological logging and interpretation.
  • Working with subcontractors to deliver services according to contract requirements while adhering to company and client safety standards.
  • Assisting with gathering and analyzing geological and hydrogeological data in both the field and office settings.
  • Assisting in preparation of written reports, work plans, remedial action plans, site investigation reports, site closures, site management plans, and technical memorandums; analysis of data; and development of supported conclusions.
  • Assisting in preparation and implementation of work plans, cost estimates, data compilation/analysis, and report preparation (text, tables, figures, and calculations).
  • Performing independent hands-on fieldwork, oversee contractors (laboratory personnel, drillers, and surveyors), and other field personnel, and interacting with clients/client representatives.
  • Utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, and comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assisting with landfill compliance monitoring, including reporting of groundwater and landfill gas remedial systems performance and monitoring data.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Health and Safety Plans and identifying hazard recognition during field assignments.
  • Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Geological, Hydrogeological, Environmental Sciences or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.
