Job Description

Is the third working level in the engineering series. Incumbents routinely lead complex engineering projects. This role has no direct reports.

  • Coordinates/develops prepares or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project, including designs, calculations, layouts, schematics, manuals, bid specs, etc.
  • Establishes project team, facilitates and documents project team meetings.

  • Interfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specification.
  • Provides purchasing services for project materials, reviews potential vendors, contacts vendors, coordinates with the purchasing department, issues purchase orders, negotiates prices, and expedites delivery.
  • Assists (as necessary) in the interview process of candidates for filling openings within the department.
  • Communicates all appropriate information in a timely manner and fashion to the necessary people within and outside the organization.
• Accountability
  • Manages project costs, project scheduling and supplies pertinent communication for multiple highly complex and wide‑range engineering projects.
  • Completes project closeout and post‑mortem analysis for appropriate projects.

  • Actively participates on continuous improvement / kaizen teams and leads teams as requested.
  • Leads efforts to secure and maintain knowledge of current industry practices for the department as they may apply to Amcor products and equipment.
  • Leads mid‑to‑large scale project installations, checkout, start‑up and training as necessary.
  • Identifies potential areas of improvement for department and develops proposals for action plans.

    • Creates and reviews technical drawings, plans, and specifications utilizing computer software.
