Overview
This role is the third working level in the engineering series, leading complex engineering projects with no direct reports.
Responsibilities- Safety:
Align and actively support Amcor values by putting safety first in all situations. Act as safety leader by ensuring all project work complies with safety policies. - Integrity:
Analyze customer needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develop and evaluate solutions, defining project scope. Coordinate and develop engineering package/project documentation including designs, calculations, layouts, schematics, manuals, bid specs, etc. - Collaboration:
Interface with people, departments, and companies to ensure equipment is safe, on schedule, and to specification. Provide purchasing services for project materials: review vendors, coordinate with Purchasing, issue purchase orders, negotiate prices, expedite delivery. - Accountability:
Manage project costs, scheduling, and communication. Complete project closeout and post‑mortem analysis. Participate in continuous improvement/kaizen teams and lead as requested. - Results:
Lead mid to large‑scale project installations, checkout, start‑up, and training. Identify improvement areas and propose action plans. - Knowledge:
Secure and maintain knowledge of current industry practices and apply to Amcor products and equipment. Evaluate and improve current best practices for engineering design, layouts, and installations.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, CS&E, Controls/Automation Engineering or related technical field).
- 6+ years’ experience in Amcor or similar flexible packaging engineering projects.
- Above average performance.
- 30% travel requirement.
