Responsibilities- Conduct research to advocate for new technologies/products that enable the business.
- Influence technical decisions regarding new technology and serve as a technical advisor to engineering leaders.
- Collaborate to establish the technical baseline and engineering vision, guiding the organization toward modern development, integration, and test approaches.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues and provide innovative, industry-leading solutions.
- Provide technical mentorship across all engineering levels.
- Offer technical inspiration and leadership consultation to other engineers.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including analysis, research, and historical records.
- Perform complex engineering analyses to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
- Support prototypes, pilots, and production as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or a related field.
- Ten or more years of relevant experience.
- Internal and external communication and relationship management.
- Strong reading, writing, and interpretation skills across technical and regulatory documents.
- Decision‑making with significant responsibility and judgment.
- Complex problem solving and initiative in novel situations.
- Supervisory/managerial capabilities, including scheduling and reviewing the work of others.
Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, typing, and manual dexterity activities, with occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Non‑physical demands involve analysis, reasoning, communication, and sustained mental activity. Environmental challenges may include task changes, high public contact, dust, temperature extremes, noise, and potential exposure to chemicals.
