Position SummaryThe Senior Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, develop, integrate, and support functional, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical systems for heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.
This position has a particular focus on fluid power and mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Responsibilities may include system design, component selection, system integration, engineering analysis, CAD development, troubleshooting, product documentation, and production support.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of related engineering experience and be capable of independently executing technical assignments while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and other business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related systems for heavy-duty vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Support the design, development, integration, and modification of components and systems for new and existing vehicle platforms.
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and technical analysis in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and technical feasibility.
- Perform engineering analysis to support component selection, system sizing, integration, and material selection.
- Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
- Prepare and review engineering layouts, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Utilize 3D CAD tools to develop and modify mechanical designs.
- Support product changes through established engineering change and documentation processes.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and other technical issues.
- Provide timely technical assistance for production and business continuity needs.
- Analyze issues reported to Engineering and communicate technical findings, recommendations, and status.
- Manage individual projects, portions of larger projects, or multiple concurrent engineering assignments.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines, manufacturing teams, business stakeholders, customers, and external suppliers.
- Maintain project documentation supporting engineering analysis, research, design decisions, and historical records.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, presentations, and other engineering documentation.
- Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians working on common projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, accumulators, or related components
- Hydraulic or pneumatic component selection

- System sizing and engineering analysis

- Mobile equipment, automotive, heavy-vehicle, off-highway, or similar mechanical applications
Candidates are not required to have experience across every listed area. Relevant experience in one or more applicable fluid power or mechanical engineering functions may be considered.
Engineering Design & Documentation- Proficiency with a professional 3D CAD system.
- Creo or CATIA experience preferred; equivalent 3D CAD platforms may also be considered.
- Experience creating or modifying engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and Bills of Material.
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawing standards and design criteria.
- Experience supporting product changes through established engineering change and documentation processes.
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of related engineering experience.
- Relevant experience designing, developing, analyzing, integrating, troubleshooting, or supporting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or related systems.
- Experience using a professional 3D CAD platform.
- Ability to independently manage engineering assignments and solve technical problems with limited supervision.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or other fluid power systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty vehicle, off-highway equipment, mobile equipment, or related systems.
- Experience with Creo or CATIA.
- Experience creating engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, and BOMs.
- Experience with component selection, system integration, engineering changes, troubleshooting, or production support.
