Hourly Pay: $28.35 – $32.40, based on qualifications
Are you detail-driven, service-minded, and interested in playing a key role in local government? The City of Oshkosh is looking for a Deputy City Clerk to support essential city operations, including elections, licensing, public records, City Council agenda preparation, and customer service.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced office environment, enjoys working with the public, and takes pride in accuracy, professionalism, and public service.
What You’ll DoAs Deputy City Clerk, you will assist with a wide range of important municipal functions, including:
- Supporting and coordinating local elections, absentee voting, voter registration, poll worker training, and Wis Vote tasks
- Processing liquor, tobacco, bartender/operator, taxi, special event, and other municipal licenses
- Preparing agenda items, resolutions, notices, records, and official documents
- Providing excellent customer service to residents, applicants, businesses, and City staff
- Maintaining accurate records and helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Serving as a trusted backup to the City Clerk, including occasionally attending after-hours meetings
- At least three years of administrative or clerical experience
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- The ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and database systems
- A valid driver’s license
Municipal Clerk certification, election experience, Wis Vote experience, some college coursework in business or public administration, and supervisory experience are preferred.
