Hourly Pay: $30.35 – $34.68, based on qualifications

Schedule:

Full-time with regular hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus occasional evening meetings and weekend hours as needed.

Are you detail-driven, service-minded, and interested in playing a key role in local government? The City of Oshkosh is looking for a Deputy City Clerk to support essential city operations, including elections, licensing, public records, and City Council meeting preparation.

What You’ll Do

As Deputy City Clerk, you will assist with a wide range of important municipal functions such as:

  • Mange the City’s records program and coordinate public records requests from receipt through completion
  • Manage liquor, tobacco and related licensing processes
  • Assist with all aspects of location election administration, including voter registration, absentee voting, poll worker training, and Wis Vote tasks
  • Assist with preparation of Council agenda items, resolutions, notices, records, and official documents
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, applicants, businesses, and City staff
  • Assist with processing of bartender/operator licenses as needed
  • Serve as a trusted backup to the City Clerk, including occasionally attending after-hours meetings
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
  • Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Records/Information Management, Legal Studies or a closely related field
  • At least three years of relevant licensing, public records or records management experience; municipal clerk and election experience preferred
  • WI Certified Municipal Clerk (WCMA) certification or ability to obtain withing 5 years
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and database systems
  • A valid driver’s license
