located near Oshkosh Wisconsin, is looking to hire an Admissions Coordinator. WMHI is a part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) and is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.
The Admissions Coordinator covers the Admissions Department 24/7 with rotating shifts (6:30 am – 3:00 pm, 2:30 pm – 11:00pm, and 10:30 pm – 7:00 am). The team determines their schedules to achieve maximum flexibility and equity. Weekends and holidays are equally covered and divided between the group members. The team also shares coverage for the off days and vacation days of the NOC Shift Coordinator.
Candidates must be available to work all shifts.

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will be functioning as a member of a team to ensure adequate coverage that meets admission demands. This is a professional level position that collects and analyzes information to coordinate activities of other professionals within civil and forensic services. You will be responsible for:
- Fielding calls and other communication between human services agencies, courts, law enforcement, admission staff, and treatment team to arrange patient admissions and determine appropriate placement for both civil and forensic services.
- Gathering collateral including legal, medical and clinical information and completing pre-admission screenings.
- Monitoring databases to track patient movement, completing audits, and performing data analyses.
- Gathering appropriate admission/transfer/discharge information from the patient care units and completing required legal and insurance paperwork with each hospitalized patient.
- Completing admission, discharge, and return to/from court processes through the Admissions office.
- Verifying patient information and making appropriate changes in the computerized billing system and electronic health record.
- Obtaining demographic and insurance information and entering data via an online data base system to maximize third party reimbursement within short timeframe requirements.
The starting salary is between $30.00 and $32.00 per hour (approximately between $62,400 and $66,500 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
An additional $0.80 per hour night differential and an $0.80 per hour weekend differential applies to worked shifts.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Treatment Specialist 1 and in pay schedule and range 12/64.
