Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of Human Resources functions at our Oshkosh, WI plant. Responsibilities include hourly recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits, plant safety, payroll administration, leave of absence, HR compliance, HRIS reporting, training and development, and other assigned duties by the HR Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position, working 100% on-site. This position reports to the HR Manager at our Arcadia, WI plant.
& Onboarding
- Position will be focused on recruiting hourly talent, with an emphasis on the recruitment of skilled labor (welders)
- Position will be responsible for posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating new hire onboarding
- Facilitate orientation programs and ensure all new hire paperwork is completed
- Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding
- Function as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Assist in addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring a positive work environment
- Support managers with performance evaluations, corrective actions, and documentation
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401K retirement plan, and other perks
- Serve as the liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and provide support during open enrollment
- Responsible for full-cycle payroll administration. Collection of time worked, vacation holidays, overtime, and other specific labor allocation reporting
- Administer our hourly attendance policy
- Administer disability and FMLA programs, with a focus on effective management
- Ensure that the location is compliant with all federal, state, and local labor laws
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with internal policy and legal requirements
- Manage and update employee data in the HRIS system (UKG)
- Generate and analyze HR-related reports, including turnover, absenteeism, and diversity metrics
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs
- Assist in implementing training initiatives that foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand and comply with company policies
- Coordinate safety training initiatives, maintain required training records, and partner with site leadership to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and employee engagement throughout the facility.
