Our client, ISite Technologies Inc, is seeking Desktop Support staff for the Department of Corrections (DOC).
Project DetailsThe DOC requires Desktop Support staff to maintain a working knowledge of its internal computer system. The technician will repair and maintain thousands of desktops, laptops and other PC devices. They will also install new PCs and laptops to replace end‑of‑life equipment. While performing these tasks, they will maintain inventory and properly dispose of outdated equipment by recycling per DOC policies.
They will also maintain and close work orders in the DOC ticketing system. The technician receives oversight from the Field Tech Manager to ensure that policy, procedure and methodology are being followed.
The candidate must be able to carry 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours; this may not be required daily but is a requirement. The position requires good desktop troubleshooting skills and excellent customer service. Any AV integration experience is a plus. The technician will be based at the DOC Central Office (CO) located at 3099 E. Washington, Madison, WI 53704, and will also work at DOC facilities assisting the regular field tech with project and problem tickets every few weeks.
When traveling to DOC facilities, the technician will be paid mileage at 0.51 cents per mile and hourly wage for travel time, or may drive a state vehicle if they have a good driving record. When working at CO, they are not paid mileage for travel time. The technician has the option to work four ten‑hour days with a Friday off, five eight‑hour days, or a nine‑day nine‑hour two‑week schedule with one Friday off.
