Position Overview: Performs various tasks on the shop floor related to the finishing and assembly of industrial bearings including deburring, blasting, tumbling, lapping, sawing, splitting, and basic machining functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform basic machining functions including set up, operating, and grinding or other related equipment involved in finishing parts.
- Remove excess material and burrs from surface by performing deburring, blasting, tumbling, staking, lapping, sawing, splitting, polishing, and other basic machining functions.
- Review blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
- Calibrate or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges.
- Assemble, repair, and inspect machined parts using hand tools. Log and enter information for tracking and quality purposes.
- Maintain work areas to ensure the safe operations of all tools and equipment and adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
- Attend all meetings and trainings as required, including safety training and team huddles.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Experience: 0+ years relevant experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Experience: Hand/power tool use, and blueprint reading experience highly desirable.
Language:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and write English.
Mathematical:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
