Role Overview

This position is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and facilitating World Class Operations Management methodologies for the plant. The incumbent is a member of the plant leadership team and will be assigned additional responsibilities in other functional areas to deliver the plant’s annual operating plan.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a safety leader and ensures safety is prioritized in all responsibilities, working with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain safety policies and programs.
  • Facilitates deployment and integrates Continuous Improvement into the culture of the plant.
  • Identifies high‑value cost‑saving projects and coordinates project teams to ensure proper resourcing and timely completion.
  • Participates in daily production and operations issues as a member of the leadership team to produce quality products, meet customer service goals, and optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Provides leadership and problem‑solving expertise to improve performance.
  • Motivates, coaches, and instills strong management skills in engineers, shift supervisors, and hourly employees.
  • Maintains a strong floor presence to set expectations, communicate standards, and evaluate results so all employees understand performance expectations.
  • Initiates and leads employee training to develop continuous improvement skills throughout the organization.
  • Develops new processes and programs where gaps exist.
  • Leads major projects to improve plant results.
  • Extracts useful data from various systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates work to improve overall Continuous Improvement results, measured by regular audits.
  • Assists in generating reporting tools and progress reports for assigned business areas.
  • Facilitates best‑practice sharing internally within the plant and externally with peers and other facilities.
  • Manages communication processes to present the status of plant improvement projects.
  • Leads project selection and drives policy deployment so employees understand goals and objectives for a successful year.
  • Drives change and overcomes obstacles effectively.
  • Demonstrates and fosters Amcor Core Values and actively contributes to a high‑performance culture.
  • Absorbs new technologies and management techniques.
  • Adopts an approachable and participative style to motivate people toward higher performance standards.
  • Preferred experience in implementing lean principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred majors include engineering or industrial technology.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP.
