About the Role:
The 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 6:30am- 4:30pm, Powder Painter plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by applying high-quality powder coatings to various metal components and products. This position ensures that finished goods meet strict aesthetic and durability standards through precise and consistent powder application techniques. The role requires close attention to detail to prepare surfaces, operate powder coating equipment, and monitor the curing process to achieve optimal results.
The Powder Painter collaborates with quality control and production teams to maintain workflow efficiency and uphold safety standards. Ultimately, this position contributes to delivering visually appealing and long-lasting products that meet customer specifications and industry regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating powder coating equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with different types of powder coatings and curing processes.
- Knowledge of quality control standards related to surface finishing.
- Certification in industrial painting or powder coating techniques.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking to ensure proper powder adhesion.
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and booths, following established procedures.
- Apply powder coatings evenly and consistently to meet quality and thickness specifications.
- Monitor curing ovens and adjust settings to ensure proper curing of coated parts.
- Inspect finished products for defects or inconsistencies and report any quality issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality targets.
