Welder Lead III – 2nd Shift
The Welder Lead III performs MIG and other welding, operates robotic welders, and supports fabrication and assembly of product lines on a 3PM–1AM shift, earning $36.50 per hour (incl. shift and lead premium).
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Adapt to different products and areas to meet business needs.
- Follow established procedures, processes, and policies.
- Train new and existing employees on work instructions and standard work.
- Interpret instructions, prints, and work orders.
- Plan and prepare working procedures, tools, and materials.
- Perform basic and complex welds with varying degrees of precision and control.
- Clean and prepare surfaces, set up, assemble and tack weld parts.
- Use hoists, mechanical drawings, and fabrication equipment.
- Operate robot welders, read blueprints, verify programs and tooling.
- Perform complex machine set‑ups and critical operations, using precision measuring devices.
- Maintain conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Practice safe work habits, follow safety guidelines, and support company safety initiatives.
- Maintain housekeeping and comply with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Repair or correct errors and participate in training sessions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2years of production welding experience.
- Successful completion of internal weld test.
- Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.).
- Experience effectively training other employees on work instructions.
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Regular talking and hearing, hand manipulation, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching.
- Occasional lifting of 25–50pounds.
- Frequent computer‑based work with periods of sitting and close vision.
