Assistant Operator
Join Amcor as an Assistant Operator and help produce high-quality packaging with global impact. Start by learning the basics in departments such as Clean Room, Coating, Converting, Extrusion, Lamination, Rewind, Slitting, or Press. Through hands‑on experience and training programs, you will have the opportunity to grow into a Machine Operator role and cross‑train in multiple areas, building a strong foundation for a successful career at Amcor.
Schedule- 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 shift schedule rotating bi‑weekly from days to nights.
- 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 shift schedule straight nights.
- Pay: $25.96/hour + $1.20/hour night shift premium (when working night shift).
- Overtime: 1.5x pay on Sunday and for hours over 40 per week.
- 401(k):

- Assist the operator with all aspects of the job.
- Learn to operate the machine and serve as a backup operator when the operator is away from the machine or on vacation.
- Band return stock, empty cores, headers, start‑up rolls, and butt rolls.
- Load new stock on the back of the machine and unload finished rolls.
- Change and clean silicon rolls.
- Adjust slitters and tension for each job.
- Perform daily and weekly housekeeping.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and computer programs.
- Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to perform visual inspections, including the use of measurement devices, and identify and distinguish colors.
- Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for long periods (steel‑toed shoes required).
- Perform climbing, crouching, and reaching.
