Job Description
Machine Assistants play a vital role supporting Amcor Healthcare Packaging Oshkosh by assisting in operating machines to produce customer orders in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
Schedule- 12-hour shift on a 2-2-3 straight night shift schedule (6pm-6am)
- Pay: $21.00/hour + $1.20/hour night shift premium
- Overtime: 1.5x pay on Sundays and for hours over 40 per week

- Act as a safety leader by following all safety procedures and promoting a safety‑first culture. Adhere to GMP, ISO, PPE, and gowning standards.
- Perform visual inspections, material checks, and required testing to ensure product quality. Report any quality concerns immediately.
- Assist operators with set up, basic troubleshooting, roll changes, machine jams, and other adjustments safely and according to procedures; act as backup operator during breaks, meetings, or other coverage as needed.
- Navigate AMS to access, interpret, and print production specifications. Safely operate essential equipment including the tilt lock, bander, and pallet jack.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter‑free work environment following 6S procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support additional projects or tasks as assigned.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs.
- Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to perform visual inspections including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for long periods (steel‑toed shoes required).
- Perform climbing, crouching, and reaching.
