Job Overview
Quad Packaging is hiring Day Shift Material Handlers (Forklift Drivers) at its Franklin, WI facility. The position is located in a 250,000 sq. ft. state‑of‑the‑art packaging plant that serves a diverse range of clients.
The plant includes sheetfed offset, narrow‑web flexo, die cutting, custom folding/gluing, and advanced inline quality control systems. It is climate‑controlled, well‑lit, and impeccably clean.
Shift & CompensationShift: 1pm – 9pm, Monday–Friday.
Hourly pay: $17.50 – $19.50 for the day shift, with overtime and shift differentials available.
- Shipping & Receiving – efficiently manage incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Gather, fill, and/or prepare items for shipment. Count, confirm, and document quantity.
- Determine shipment method; use knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates; compute shipment space available and/or charges per standard procedures.
- Load and unload shipments and manage palletizing and bailing operations to meet production and recycling/disposal protocols.
- Produce labels, print, and proofread copy; print appropriate number of labels; forward and/or affix to pallets as needed.
- Protect client products and assist the department in maintaining key industry certifications.
- Operators perform multiple functions during the shift, including maintaining the baler room; cross‑train as assigned.
- At least 18 years old.
- 1+ year of material handler/shipping/receiving/baler experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages).
- English speaking and reading proficiency sufficient to interpret instructions, job orders, and work‑related documents.
- Familiarity with machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance; machine repair and maintenance experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to perform and coordinate simultaneous tasks of monitoring, inspecting, packaging, labeling, and transferring completed products.
- Quick and accurate comparison skills for letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns.
- Physical demand: lift 50+ lbs. Work performed indoors in a climate‑controlled environment and outdoors loading/unloading deliveries.
