About the RoleThe 2nd Shift Press Brake Operator (Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM) plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. This position ensures production goals are met during second shift operations by safely and efficiently operating press brake machinery. The operator is responsible for interpreting blueprints, setting up equipment, and making precise adjustments to produce high-quality finished parts.
Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintaining product integrity, equipment performance, and workplace safety. This role is key to delivering consistent, accurate metal fabrications on schedule.
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM – 2:30 AM
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating press brake machinery or similar metal fabrication equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic math skills for measurements and bend calculations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Certification in press brake operation or metal fabrication
- Experience in a manufacturing or shift-based production environment
- Familiarity with CNC press brake programming and operation
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal parts
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment
- Monitor product quality and make adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures
The ability to interpret blueprints and accurately set up press brake machinery is essential for producing precision-formed metal components. Strong attention to detail ensures consistent quality and allows for timely adjustments during production. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills support equipment reliability and help minimize downtime. Preferred CNC programming knowledge enhances efficiency and expands capability on advanced equipment. Communication and teamwork skills are important for coordinating with supervisors and production staff to meet deadlines safely and effectively.
