Job Title:
Mechanical Assembler – 1st Shift
The Mechanical Assembler on 1st shift leads the assembly of components and sub-assemblies of metal parts according to blueprints and job packets. This role plans and performs large and complex assemblies, guides others with minimal supervision, and conducts inspections throughout the process to ensure quality and reduce job cycle times. The position supports various assembly jobs as assigned, maintains a clean and safe work area, and operates a variety of hand and power tools as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead the assembly of metal components and sub-assemblies in accordance with blueprints, job packets, and established procedures.
- Plan and perform large and complex mechanical assemblies with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide direction and guidance to other assemblers while working under minimal supervision.
- Assist with additional assembly jobs and tasks as assigned to support production needs.
- Perform inspections at multiple stages of the assembly process to ensure quality standards are met and scheduled job time is reduced.
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine assembly requirements and sequence of operations.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including band saws, drill presses, grinders, belt sanders, and similar equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and ear and eye protection, while performing all tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and improve processes where possible.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and job packets accurately.
- Demonstrated mechanical assembly skills, including working with metal components and sub-assemblies.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools such as band saws, drill presses, grinders, and belt sanders.
- Capability to plan and execute large and complex assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Experience leading or directing others in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and adherence to specifications.
- Ability to perform ongoing inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or one year of previous experience in a manufacturing environment or manufacturing assembly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a clean, well-organized manufacturing facility.
- Comfort working with personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and ear and eye protection.
- Willingness to learn new assembly processes and transition to other departments as needed.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting production schedules.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a well-lit, clean manufacturing facility designed to support safe and efficient assembly work. New hires begin with training boxes to learn processes and build confidence before moving to more complex assemblies. The dress code is standard casual, typically jeans and a T-shirt, with steel-toe footwear required. Ear and eye protection are also required and are used consistently in the work area.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oshkosh, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
