The Military-Industrial Coater and Painter is a full-time, on-site role based in the Appleton-Oshkosh-Neenah Area. This position is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying pretreatment, and performing industrial and specialty coating applications on commercial, aerospace, and military equipment according to project specifications and quality standards. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting work orders and technical drawings, mixing and matching coatings, setting up and adjusting spray equipment, and applying primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes in controlled environments.

The role involves inspecting work for proper coverage, thickness, and finish, performing touch-ups and rework as needed, and documenting work performed to meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Coater and Painter also follows strict safety, environmental, and housekeeping practices, works collaboratively with production and quality teams, and assists in routine equipment maintenance.

• Surface preparation and coating application skills, including cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting, and applying primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, drawings, and specifications for commercial, aerospace, and military coating requirements.
• Experience with spray equipment and tools, such as HVLP spray guns, pressure pots, and related coating application systems, including basic equipment setup and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of coating quality standards, including film thickness measurement, adhesion checks, visual inspection, and documentation of work performed.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to paints, solvents, chemicals, personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilation, and environmental compliance.
• Basic math and measurement skills for mixing ratios, material usage, and interpreting gauges and instruments.
• Prior experience in industrial painting, automotive refinishing, aerospace, or military coating environments is beneficial.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and working in production areas.
