Overview

The goal of the Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA Program is to build a better Wisconsin by assisting local organizations to increase the capacity and sustainability of programs focused on alleviating poverty. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our Ameri Corps VISTA members help organizations in bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Member Duties

You’ll cultivate a welcoming volunteer environment, providing support and training to retain volunteers and grow the program, enabling Oshkosh to build more homes.

Volunteer Recruitment: Increase Habitat’s community of volunteers, focusing on construction volunteers but coordinating with the ReStore VISTA as needed. Develop a recruitment plan, with specific strategies for recruiting Core Volunteers. Provide support as needed with scheduling.

Volunteer Management: Foster a positive volunteer experience, increasing retention and community support for Habitat’s work and mission. Review training curriculum, volunteer appreciation, and data collection; make updates where needed. Develop a definition and guidelines for Core Volunteers.

Benefits: 30-hour work week; hybrid schedule; $400/month housing stipend. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.
