This position is part-time and ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow in nonprofit fundraising, outreach, or community engagement. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in community-based organizations or university groups focused on outreach, community engagement, or Latino/Latinx communities (e.g., COPAL, CLUES, Mi Gente, Latino Student Union, or similar).

What Success Looks Like
  • Donors feel personally connected and engaged with JJAI
  • Outreach and follow-up are consistent and well-organized
  • Past supporters are successfully re-engaged

  • Help plan and support small events and gatherings
  • Identify potential donors, connectors, and partnership opportunities
  • Represent JJAI in community-facing settings with warmth and professionalism
Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through

  • Ability to manage multiple conversations and tasks at once
  • Interest in nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven work

Strong Plus:

  • Spanish-speaking ability
  • Experience engaging across cultures and communities
  • Background in outreach, organizing, events, sales, hospitality, or community engagement
  • Experience with donor tracking tools, CRMs, Airtable, or spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with the Twin Cities community
What We Value Most

Energy, initiative, and follow-through matter more than perfect experience. We welcome candidates with transferable skills from community outreach, organizing, events, or other people-facing roles.

Growth Opportunity

This role has strong potential to grow into a larger development or community engagement position over time.
