SUMMARY
The EAA Aviation Donor Relations Specialist is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of donors and prospective donors, as well as implementing associated activities of the organization that support EAA’s ongoing fundraising efforts.
70% of the position will be devoted to donor relations, which will involve growing, nurturing and maintaining long-lasting, positive relationships with donors. 30% of the position is dedicated to planning and implementing donor cultivation events, which include special events and the hospitality activities associated with Air Venture.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Work collectively with EAA Aviation Foundation team to develop and achieve annual fundraising metrics.
- Independently manage a portfolio of 100-120+ donors/prospects through the fundraising donor pipeline from qualification to stewardship.
- Keep timely and accurate communication logs with pertinent information about donors and prospects in EAA’s donor database.
- Research potential donors to add to the pipeline.
- Meet monthly and annual fundraising goals.
- Cultivate internal relationships with EAA departments by focusing on collaboration and leveraging internal resources.
- Assist with the implementation of cultivation and stewardship events.
- Help support the execution of the Foundation’s annual fundraising gala, The Gathering.
- Create and manage monthly reports on prospecting and solicitation activities.
- Embrace and support the EAA Aviation Foundation mission and perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, goal-oriented, self-starter, professional, confident, and flexible
- Strong attention to detail and proven project management skills
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge of all Microsoft Suite programs, especially excel, and CRM
- Majors gifts solicitation experience
- Aviation experience either professionally or as an enthusiast is desired

Typical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Preparation for Air Venture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
