Travel Nurse RN ED

Job Responsibilities and Requirements- Work 12‑hour night shifts with 24 hours per week guaranteed.
- Weekend rotation every other weekend required.
- No floating required for ER RN.
- Low census on‑call applies; travelers called off first.
- Holiday coverage as needed based on staffing.
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required.
- First‑time travelers are accepted.
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatric, with a mostly geriatric population.
- General ED skillset required including chest pain, abdominal pain, and falls.
- Pediatric experience not required but preferred.
- Patient ratio of 1:3–4 for both days and nights.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
- Preferred certifications: CPI/MOAB, ENPC.
- Required skills:
PIV starts, blood cultures with proper technique, chest tubes, code blue experience, and triage. - Preferred skills: art lines, critical care experience, central line placement, thoracentesis, and charge experience.
- EPIC charting system experience required.
- Equipment used includes Alaris, Pyxis, and Belmont rapid infuser (preferred).
- Scrub color: any color; no denim, camouflage, or logos permitted.
- Free parking available in designated areas.
This facility is a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center featuring a Level III NICU and 72 total beds with 22 beds in the emergency department. The unit is supported by a charge nurse, CNAs, a unit secretary available 24/7, hospitalists available 24/7, respiratory therapists available 24/7, and a mid‑level provider available from 8:00 AM to midnight. The facility utilizes bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring and provides access to phlebotomy for challenging or time‑sensitive draws.
