About the Role

Take your critical care nursing experience beyond the traditional hospital environment.

The United States Navy is seeking qualified Critical Care Nurses to serve as commissioned officers in the Navy Nurse Corps
. In this role, you will provide advanced nursing care to critically ill and injured patients while serving as both a healthcare professional and a military leader.

Navy Critical Care Nurses work alongside physicians, surgeons, nurses, Hospital Corpsmen, and other healthcare professionals as part of multidisciplinary medical teams. Depending on assignment and operational requirements, you may serve at Navy medical facilities in the United States or overseas and support operational or humanitarian missions around the world.

This opportunity is designed for nurses who want to continue developing their clinical expertise while gaining experience in leadership, military medicine, and global healthcare operations
.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and injured patients
  • Assess patients and recognize rapid changes in clinical condition
  • Manage complex patient-care requirements in critical care environments
  • Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Coordinate and prioritize care for high-acuity patients
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior personnel
  • Participate in military medical readiness and training
  • Support Navy and joint medical operations when required
  • Serve as both a registered nurse and commissioned Navy Officer

Basic Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted U.S. Registered Nurse license
  • Current clinical nursing experience appropriate to the specialty
  • Critical care/ICU experience for Critical Care Nurse opportunities
  • Ability to meet Navy medical and physical standards
  • Eligibility to receive a commission as an officer in the United States Navy
  • Additional professional, age, licensing, and experience requirements may apply
