Aurora Health (now part of Advocate Health) WI Float Pool is a multi‑site resource team supporting Women’s Health (WH) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings.
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing, Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice. Must be able to support 2 of 3 specialties:
Post Partum, Labor & Delivery, NICU. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association. Additional Certification needed: LDRP RN (ACLS, NRP, EFM, Telemetry Rhythm Analysis/Interpretation POC Glucose); NICU RN (PALS, NRP, POC Glucose).
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of WH RN experience required in specialty.
Weekend Requirement (Friday 1900 – Monday 0700): 1 Weekend Shift per 2 schedule period. Holiday Requirement: 1 Holiday per year.
Schedule:
Self-scheduled. Assignments may be day-to-day or long-term float placements. A minimum of 12 hours per scheduled period is required and may be met through a combination of 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts.
- Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence‑based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
- Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
- Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute‑care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
- Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute‑care facilities within the designated zone
