Quality Engineer
Location: Oshkosh, WI
Employment Type: 6-Month Temp-to-Perm
PERKS - Holiday, 3 weeks Vacation / Half the medical cost covered
Pay Range: $40 - 55hr/hour, depending on experience

Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support, customer quality, warranty issues, and continuous improvement activities. This position will investigate quality defects, support customer complaints and warranty claims, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to implement corrective actions.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with
ISO 9001, quality inspection, root cause analysis, 8D, 5 Whys, SOP development, KPI monitoring, data analysis, and customer-facing quality issues .
- Acts as the main quality contact between the customer and internal manufacturing/quality teams.
- Inspect, test, and measure materials, products, installations, and completed work for conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Measure product dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
- Record inspection and test results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Identify, segregate, reject, or disposition products and materials that do not meet established specifications.
- Analyze test and inspection data and perform calculations necessary to determine product acceptance.
- Support an ISO 9001 quality management system and ensure compliance with established quality procedures.
- Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality documentation.
- Manage quality deviations, nonconforming material, and documentation associated with manufacturing or machining changes.
- Support revision control and quality requirements related to design and machining operation changes.
- Monitor quality KPIs , analyze performance data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Support production teams in identifying quality gaps and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide quality-related training and guidance to manufacturing personnel.
- Handle customer complaints, warranty claims, returned products, and reported quality defects .
- Serve as a primary quality contact between customers and internal manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
- Coordinate investigations and root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis, and other structured problem-solving methodologies .
- Lead or support corrective and preventive actions to address customer and internal quality concerns.
- Coordinate containment activities when quality issues are identified.
Communicate containment plans, investigation findings, root causes, and corrective actions back to customers. - Track and analyze warranty trends, product returns, defects, customer complaints, and customer quality KPIs .
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, suppliers, and quality teams to eliminate recurring defects and prevent repeat issues.
- Communicate directly with suppliers regarding material, component, and manufacturing quality concerns.
- Assist with supplier corrective actions and follow-up activities when necessary.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent technical training and experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, inspection, or a related technical environment.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality system.
- Experience handling customer complaints, warranty issues, quality defects, or returned products strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies .
- Experience developing and maintaining SOPs and quality procedures.
