Quality Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineering to support manufacturing operations in Oshkosh, WI. This position will focus on product quality, supplier and customer quality issues, root cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement, KPI monitoring, and development of quality procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a manufacturing environment, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to communicate directly with suppliers, customers, production teams, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns, defects, corrective actions, and resolution of issues.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate assembled products for defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, manuals, data, and other technical documentation.
  • Determine appropriate inspection and testing procedures, measurement methods, formulas, and equipment.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Review and analyze inspection and test data to determine product conformance.
  • Identify, document, reject, or disposition nonconforming products, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, testing, quality, and production records.
  • Investigate internal, supplier, and customer quality issues.
  • Lead and support structured root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and follow through on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Establish, develop, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality procedures.
  • Monitor manufacturing and quality KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform data analysis and communicate findings to manufacturing, engineering, quality, suppliers, and management.
  • Provide hands-on quality support to production teams when manufacturing or quality gaps are identified.
  • Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality requirements, procedures, inspection methods, and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and reduction of defects and waste.
  • Work independently while collaborating closely with production, engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent education, training, or relevant experience will also be considered.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical experience.
  • Experience communicating directly with suppliers and/or customers regarding quality issues.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, inspection techniques, and quality control practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Strong analytical and data-analysis skills.
  • Experience monitoring and analyzing quality and manufacturing KPIs.
  • Strong computer skills, including:
    Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Minitab.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection documentation, and technical data.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify issues and drive them through resolution.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of exercising independent judgment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to support and train manufacturing personnel.
