Job Overview
Lead Sales Associate (Part Time) – Adams, WI (Position Code: S06870) at Dollar General.
Responsibilities- Act as a cashier and/or stocker, leading in the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager.
- Assist in setting and maintaining plan‑ograms and programs.
- Provide exemplary customer service and assist customers in locating merchandise.
- Unload trucks, stock merchandise, rotate and face merchandise on shelves, and build merchandise displays.
- Restock returned and recovered merchandise; order zones and drop‑shipment categories as directed by the store manager.
- Maintain register countertops and bags; implement register‑counter top plan‑ograms.
- Operate the cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customers’ purchases, bag merchandise, collect payment, and give change.
- Clean the front end of the store, help set up sidewalk displays, and maintain a clean, well‑organized store and safe working environment.
- Follow company policies and procedures outlined in the standard operating procedures manual, employee handbook, and company communications.
- Open and/or close the store under the direction of the area manager.
- Count registers; make bank deposits; maintain strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices and cash control procedures.
- Monitor cash levels; make appropriate drawer pulls as directed by the store manager.
- Monitor cameras for unusual activities (customers and employees), if applicable.
- Knowledge and execution of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit control.
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
- Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow plan‑ogram and merchandise presentation guidance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of supervisory experience or related experience/training (preferred).
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, deposit control, safety policies, and cash control procedures.
- Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
