Cake Decorator (Part-Time)

Reports To:
Bakery Manager

We need a creative Cake Decorator to turn pastry into beautiful items. The bakery role includes servicing guests, crafting items for events and everyday indulgences, and providing friendly, professional customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Decorate bakery items such as bars, pies, cookies, doughnuts, cupcakes, and cakes.
  • Enhance the visual appeal of bakery items to boost sales.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assist guests with bakery needs and special orders, and bring their cake design visions to life.
  • Stock and maintain fresh displays, rotate products, and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain high‑quality standards by ensuring products are fresh and removing items that do not meet standards.
  • Collaborate with the Cake Decorator II and other bakery associates to achieve department goals and maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Keep food safety logs up to date and adhere to all food safety guidelines.
  • Honor commitments: regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Support the team with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Artistic talent: strong artistic sense and the ability to create visually appealing and creative bakery items.
  • Customer focus: ability to interact effectively with guests and understand their needs.
  • Attention to detail: meticulous attention to detail to ensure products are decorated beautifully and meet quality standards.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Standing for extended periods of time (80% of the time).
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis (30% of the time).
  • Frequently near moving machinery (60% of the time).
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of the time).
  • Repetitive motion of hands and wrists (90% of the time).
Work Schedule

This is a part‑time position with a flexible schedule that typically includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and the potential for evening and holiday shifts as needed.

  • Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly, and part‑time associates receive a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Full‑time associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
