Basic Function of the Position

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our ongoing projects and operations.

General Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and air brake systems for heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, dump trucks, and ready‑mix trucks.
  • Use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and technical manuals to accurately identify issues and execute repairs
  • Conduct equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Assist in heavy lifting operations using appropriate equipment to facilitate repairs or replacements
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical systems, HVAC components, and other mechanical systems on industrial equipment
  • Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes
Requirements
  • Proven experience working as a Diesel Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar, Ford, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Oshkosh, John Deere, or similar heavy machinery brands
  • Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently during repair processes
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and vehicle maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, alignment techniques, tire service, and HVAC systems on industrial equipment
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analysis skills for field service support
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
