Commercial Painter

Job Responsibilities

• Smooth surfaces and remove old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for painting using scraping or sandblasting equipment.
• Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
• Select premixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning/drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
• Remove fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting.
• Paint surfaces with brushes, spray gun (conventional or airless), or paint rollers.
• Apply paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Wear necessary protective equipment such as respirator, spray hood, hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, hand protection, hearing protection, or any additional personal protective equipment required by the customer.
• Have ability to travel to various worksites, primarily in the Midwest; overnight travel may be required.
• Continuously work to ensure safety of self and others.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
