Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on semi-truck trailers and tractors, including brake adjustments, tire replacements, electrical troubleshooting, basic structural repairs, and more, while working from a service truck and adhering to strict safety regulations. Perform general repairs on tractor and trailer units per DOT, federal and state regulations and company standards. Use technical publications or automated systems to maintain vehicles according to manufacturers’ schedules and research parts.
Properly annotate all maintenance and labor in maintenance management software.
- Diagnose and repair tractors and trailers.
- Perform annual and systematic 90-day inspections (trailers) as required.
- Ensure equipment meets Federal FHWA standards.
- Operate yard hostler truck to move trailers within the facility yard and the shop.
- Identify parts and supplies as needed.
- Adhere to all OSHA and environmental policies, including proper handling of hazardous waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Use welding equipment.

- High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational school graduate.
- At least 1 year of experience with general knowledge of equipment theory, principles, and repair related to diesel engines, air, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- At least 1 year of experience in tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, and company policies.
- Full-time availability, Monday through Friday.
