Position: Application Developer II (Support)

Overview

Greenheck Group is a global leader in air movement and ventilation. We design and manufacture industry-leading air movement and ventilation solutions through a family of trusted brands for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities worldwide. Since 1947, we have focused on growth, development, and community involvement, building an award-winning culture that prioritizes people and innovation.

This is not a typical Application Developer II role. This position is ideal for a technically inclined professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and maximizing the value of business applications. The role centers on application support, configuration, troubleshooting, and stakeholder partnership rather than full-scale software development. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the business, ensuring critical applications operate efficiently to support organizational goals.

What you should have and what you’ll do are described in the sections below.

Responsibilities
  • Modify and maintain application software to support internal and external business processes.
  • Meet with analysts and project leaders to understand requirements and timelines.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to lead incident resolution.
  • Diagnose data and performance issues with read-only SQL/PostgreSQL querying and slow-query analysis.
  • Maintain existing code under minimal guidance from the team.
  • Perform unit testing on programming changes.
  • Document program revisions and overall solution design.
  • Develop application and training documentation that is clear, succinct, accurate, and appropriately detailed.
  • Assist in creating or maintaining installation and troubleshooting guides for programs developed.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day application issues and provide debugging support as needed.
  • Test and identify best solutions, and create solution documents.
  • Provide support during outages, job failures, implementations, etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues with systems you work with on a regular basis.
  • Assist in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex applications.
  • Help train end users on new applications or enhancements to existing applications.
  • Offer constructive feedback and ideas for improvements in applications, processes, systems, and technical areas.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Application Support, SRE, or similar technical support experience for distributed or cloud-based applications is preferred.
  • 2-year/Associate Degree or equivalent experience required; 4-year/Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language used by the product stack (e.g., Angular, Type Script, HTML, CSS, C#) sufficient to write and test code-level fixes.
  • Azure Application Insights (or equivalent APM) for distributed tracing and exception analysis, including KQL/Kusto query authoring, and strong log-analysis skills across structured backend and frontend logs.
  • SQL and PostgreSQL with read-only querying and slow-query diagnosis; ability to read and reason about .NET/C# and Angular/Type Script stack traces and exceptions.
  • Experience with Docker/containers, inspecting running services, logs, and configuration; comfortable troubleshooting environment and deployment settings (env vars, feature flags, service config).
  • Preferred: familiarity with Entity Framework Core query patterns, Redis cache diagnosis, RPC-based/contract-first architectures, .NET diagnostics, networking fundamentals, and CI/CD pipelines.
