The Weekend Shift Forklift Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within the warehouse. This position is responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall warehouse operations.
The role requires adherence to safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and product damage. The Forklift Driver will work closely with warehouse team members and supervisors to meet production and shipping deadlines while contributing to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid forklift operator certification or license as required by OSHA standards
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting
- Ability to work the scheduled shift reliably and punctually
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels, complete logs, and follow instructions
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials as required
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in material handling
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment
- Additional certifications related to warehouse safety or equipment operation
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, and storage areas according to company procedures
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate inventory movement records and assist with cycle counts
- Follow all safety guidelines and participate in safety training
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize storage space and workflow
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including packing, labeling, and staging shipments
Forklift operation and safety compliance are essential to ensuring efficient material movement and accident prevention. Basic literacy and numeracy skills support accurate documentation and inventory tracking. Experience with warehouse management systems can enhance workflow efficiency, while strong communication skills help facilitate teamwork and coordination across shifts.
