The Musco Risk Management team has an opening for a Safety Operations Assistant at our Oskaloosa office

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to manage documentation, analyze data, and support reporting and communication needs.
• Experience developing, implementing, and improving policies, processes, and administrative projects that support safety and organizational objectives.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a compliance-driven environment.
• Skilled in analyzing, summarizing, and presenting data, along with creating clear, professional written communications and safety-related content.
• Effective collaboration and interpersonal skills, with experience working across teams, facilitating group processes, and maintaining confidentiality in a professional setting.
• Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, client locations, or project sites may be required (up to 10% of the time).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Innovative problem-solving with a team-oriented mindset.

• Administer and monitor the incident reporting system to ensure timely investigation completion, maintain accurate records, and analyze safety trends using reporting tools such as Power BI.
• Coordinate safety training by tracking Learning Plans, scheduling sessions, maintaining training documentation, and partnering with Training & Development to ensure compliance.
• Maintain and organize EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring materials are current, accessible, and aligned with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Manage the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) database, serve as the primary contact for SDS inquiries, and support the Chemical Approval Program.
• Maintain emergency preparedness resources, including evacuation maps and Fire Extinguisher, AED, and Medical Cabinet location maps, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate and document activities for First Aid Providers and Safety Committees, including tracking certifications, scheduling meetings, and maintaining related records.
• Co-manage the EH&S SharePoint site and develop safety communications, newsletters, and announcements to promote safety awareness and engagement.
• Manage safety supply inventory and purchasing for local facilities, including tracking specialized safety equipment and materials.
• Support compliance reporting and environmental initiatives, including OSHA hours tracking, regulatory documentation, and sustainability or ESG-related efforts.
• Provide administrative and operational support to Team Members, including coordinating ergonomic self-assessments, maintaining safety records, and serving as a resource for safety-related processes and documentation.
