Manufacturing Engineer (RMA)
Musco RMA Operations Team invites applicants to join our Oskaloosa office. This role is responsible for setting up and maintaining production lines to repair and upgrade products returned from customer facilities. The engineer will also assist technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electronic products to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations.
Essential Criteria- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with design or manufacturing of microprocessor- or microcontroller-based products.
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment (ideal).
- Experience developing automated test systems (preferred).
- Experience in component‑level troubleshooting and repair of electronic products.
- Experience with switching power supplies (preferred).
- Ability to design, construct, and maintain test fixtures and test systems for microcontroller‑based products.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits to the component level using schematics and common test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Working knowledge of laboratory and manufacturing safety practices.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, willingness to learn, and a self‑motivation approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to mentor operations and repair technicians.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Lead the setup of new production line equipment used to test, repair, and upgrade Musco products.
- Assist in design, construction, and maintenance of test fixtures and test systems, including hardware, software, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot product failures and perform root‑cause analysis on Musco electronic products returned from customer facilities.
- Collect repair data and maintain accurate repair records and databases.
- Provide feedback to product development teams regarding design corrections, product enhancements, and recurring failure trends.
- Assist in developing and documenting troubleshooting and repair protocols.
- Perform repairs on returned devices in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to operations and repair technicians.
