Position: Application Developer I

The Musco Information Technology team has an opening for an Application Developer I at our Oskaloosa office

Qualifications
  • Two-year associate’s degree in related field or combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 0–3 years of application development or related IT experience.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and its application in delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts, programming languages and development tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with self‑direction and accountability, both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data and information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Innovative problem‑solving with a team‑oriented mindset.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and deploy enhancements, new modules, and applications to meet business and system requirements.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues through effective root‑cause analysis to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with business users, QA, and infrastructure teams to gather requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Follow and make suggestions to improve development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines to support quality and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code and uphold development standards using best practices and code reviews.
  • Plan, track, and document development work maintaining accurate records of tasks and progress within Dev Ops system.
  • Support ongoing application maintenance, updates, and performance improvements in a production environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Requirements
  • May (rarely) be required to work outside of normal business hours (including evenings, weekends, or holidays), either on‑site or remotely.
  • May also be required to travel to other Musco locations.
