The Musco Information Technology team invites applications for the position of Application Developer II in our Oskaloosa, IA office. The role focuses on developing, testing, maintaining, and deploying software tools that support business objectives. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively on small‑to‑medium projects and take ownership of the development lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 4 years of software development experience.
  • Experience with C#, Blazor, and REST APIs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Progress Openedge ABL is an asset.
  • Knowledge of application integrations, databases, and security practices.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and delivery of high‑quality solutions.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and independent work skills with prioritization and accountability.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑diagnosing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capability to mentor junior developers and provide guidance.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions through analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, maintain, and deploy complex system enhancements, new modules, and applications.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshoot complex application issues.
  • Collaborate with business users, QA, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements.
  • Follow and help refine development best practices.
  • Write clean, well‑documented code and participate in code reviews.
  • Document development tasks, develop and execute project schedules.
  • Optimize application performance and maintainability.
  • Mentor developers on tools, best practices, and techniques.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Additional Considerations
  • May be required to work outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends, holidays), either on‑site or remotely, and may need to travel to other Musco locations.
