This is an exciting opportunity to participate in KDI’s rapid growth cycle and contribute to the extraordinary customer experience through execution of machining jobs. Are you tired of doing the same thing every day? KDI is a medical device contract manufacturer with a wide variety of customers and products. We specialize in low to medium volume builds in the electromechanical and mechanical product areas supporting imaging, drug injection, perfusion, and migraine relief therapies.
Our machine shop processes a number of new and repeat milling and turning jobs for a wide variety of medical devices and other specialized products every day.
- Program, set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
- Understand speeds and feeds for plastics, aluminum and stainless steel
- Work with engineers to optimize parts for manufacturability
- Program with Master CAM
- Create fixtures and jigs as required to machine and inspect parts
- Set up machines for operators to run
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment within the shop
- Inspect and verify the quality of parts produced by operators within the shop
- Conduct first article inspections on new set-ups
- Solve machining issues and offer improvement suggestions
- Communicate with fellow machinists, engineers, and management staff on projects
- Help cross-train other machinists and operators on various tasks
- Over time available almost every week
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to communicate clearly in English
- Experience setting up and running CNC equipment
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Willingness to learn new things
- Mechanical aptitude
- Follow detailed work instructions and procedures.
- Good attendance is required
- Ability to learn and cross-train others
- Working knowledge of CMM and/or Micro-vu inspection equipment
- Previous medical device manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Understanding of cGMP and/or ISO 13485 is a plus.
- Market competitive hourly rate - rate will depend on experience

Full-time
- Day Shift - Monday-Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Preferred)
- Night Shift - Monday-Thursday 3:00 PM-1:30 AM (Preferred)
