Take the next step in your interpreting career and contribute to accessible communication across an entire educational community. A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to work contractually and serve students district-wide, utilizing your expertise to bridge communication and foster inclusion.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation techniques.
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings strongly preferred.
  • National and/or state interpreter certification (such as RID or EIPA) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different age groups and learning needs.
  • Familiarity with IEP meetings, classroom instruction, and school activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative attitude.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide real-time interpretation for students, staff, and families in a variety of classroom and school settings.
  • Facilitate communication during lessons, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and meetings district-wide.
  • Support implementation of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by adapting interpreting techniques as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and administration to promote further understanding of Deaf culture and accessibility.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment by ensuring equitable access to information.
