Position: Teacher - Physical Education 0.50 FTE (PL)

Physical Education Teacher

Compensation:
Per Teacher Salary Schedule based on education and experience. District 308 grants experience credit on the salary schedule for up to 10 years of prior, verifiable, contractual full-time teaching experience.

Union Membership:
This position is represented by the Oswego Education Association (OEA).

Qualifications

A valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Physical Education endorsement.
Recent teaching experience at the elementary level (with the exception of new graduates).
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum, instructional methods and current teaching techniques.
Knowledge of physiology, health and nutrition, biology and biological functions, anatomy, hygiene, exercise, and the best ways to promote physical and mental well-being.
Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others.

General Description

The Teacher leads students towards the fulfillment of their potential by translating district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experiences that will contribute to the development of skills necessary for becoming a mature and responsible individual; development of students' physical skills and abilities, strength, agility, poise, coordination, and teamwork; and development of students' understanding of the importance of exercise to physical and mental well-being.

Motivates students to work towards physical fitness, hygiene, and good health.
