Receptionist
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, vendors, and staff at the skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment while ensuring the safety, security, and confidentiality of the facility. The Receptionist provides clerical and administrative support and plays a key role in communication and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Greet residents, family members, visitors, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
- Answer and route incoming phone calls promptly and accurately
- Monitor and enforce visitor sign-in procedures in accordance with facility policy
- Communicate visitor arrivals to appropriate departments or staff
- Maintain resident and facility confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide general information regarding facility services, visiting hours, and policies
- Assist with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Notify appropriate personnel of emergencies, concerns, or unusual situations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
- Take photos of all new admissions and enter them into the electronic medical record
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with basic office equipment and computer applications (phones, fax, copier, email)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong customer service orientation with compassion and patience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Dependability, punctuality, and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
