Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for the position of a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering with preferred expertise in Embedded Systems and Robotics. Candidates with expertise in Microelectronics, Communications Systems, Control Systems, or Computer Architecture are also considered for this position.

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience but will not be below a minimum salary of $75,000, plus full New York State benefits package.

Description of Responsibilities:
The Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering will get the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of an innovative, project-based, ABET-accredited Electrical and Computer Engineering program in collaboration with the department chair, faculty, and administrators.

The Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses in the ECE program. The Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering will be expected to develop and conduct research activities within their area of expertise. The Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering will be expected to advise students, supervise student projects, participate in departmental service activities, and represent ECE at Open House and other recruiting and outreach events.

Required Qualifications:

PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or closely related fields, with demonstrated knowledge and expertise in one of the following areas:
Embedded Systems, Robotics, Microelectronics, Communications Systems, Control Systems, and Computer Architecture. Excellence in teaching and scholarship appropriate to the rank. Commitment to undergraduate education. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Commitment to service to the department, campus, and community as a whole. Communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with a diverse community of students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Embedded Systems and Robotics. Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate Electrical and Computer Engineering courses and labs. Demonstrated success in program, course, laboratory, or curriculum development.
