As a Transmission Line Estimator
, your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Follow‑up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received, and work with the Project Management teams to follow‑up on bids and budgets to close the business. Critical for success are the abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. A strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers has been a key success to this role.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate bid specifications and drawings to determine all required materials and labor.
  • Track and follow‑up with subcontractors to obtain bids and confirm data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Project Management teams to reconcile bids and budgets.
  • Produce accurate estimates on time, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with internal teams and vendors.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years estimating or project management experience, or exposure to the electrical/utility industry.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to foster relationships and work collaboratively in a teamwork manner to complete multi‑discipline estimates.
  • The aptitude to combine independent decision‑making with a commitment to team input and alignment.
  • Valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record.
  • Solid Microsoft Office experience, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Occasional travel for bid reviews and site visits.
