OverviewThe Township of Lanark Highlands is seeking to hire an experienced, collaborative, and highly organized professional to join our team as Deputy Clerk in a full-time, permanent position.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Clerk, the Deputy Clerk provides legislative, administrative, and organizational support to the Clerk and the broader municipal team. This role assists with Council and Committee administration, records and information management, policy and procedural coordination, municipal elections, by-law administration, research and special projects, and responding to public inquiries.
The Deputy Clerk also supports across departments in a dynamic rural municipal environment where teamwork, adaptability, and strong customer service are essential.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess post‑secondary education in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of three years of professional experience, ideally within a municipal environment.
