Manager of Economic Development

Position: Manager of Economic Development Role
Drive the economic initiatives of Smithers as the Economic Development Manager. This full-time role is pivotal in stimulating growth and overseeing community economic strategies.

Reporting to the Director of Development Services, you will spearhead long-term economic plans and manage business attraction efforts that align with the Town's Official Community Plan. You'll work closely with businesses and public stakeholders to guide the Town's strategic priorities and enhance investment opportunities within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage economic development strategies

• Ensure the success of business retention programs

• Foster relationships with public and private partners

• Conduct assessments of long-term economic plans

• Align initiatives with Council's vision for growth

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field

• Five years of economic development experience

• Two years in a leadership capacity

• Proven success in local government programs

• Strong engagement with regional organizations
