Broker, Business, Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Overview

Temporary full‑time Knowledge Broker position within the Knowledge Mobilization & Strategic Alliances team of the Innovation & Portfolio Management group. The role will be based at the Ottawa site office (1800

Alta Vista Drive ) with a hybrid work arrangement: at least 40% on‑site, 2 days per week onsite, and national travel may be required. Salary: $99,600‑$117,200.

• Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners and collaborators to support evidence‑informed practices and programs in transfusion science and medicine.
• Draw on existing evidence from research and work collaboratively with partners to provide tailored, evidence‑informed guidance and practical tools.
• Lead planning, implementation, and reporting for knowledge mobilization and science communication initiatives.
• Make operational decisions for day‑to‑day project operations with support from the Associate Director.
• Define strategies for mobilizing research activities undertaken by Canadian Blood Services or in partnership with CBS, aligning them with Innovation division and organizational goals.
• Lead consultations with partners to identify barriers and facilitators in accessing, interpreting, and using evidence.
• Plan, manage, develop, and implement specific activities to enable knowledge mobilization strategies.
• Evaluate knowledge mobilization activities and promote continuous improvement and best‑practice standards.
• Identify and resolve challenges, facilitate resolution, and when needed, elevate issues.
• Maintain awareness of in‑progress and emerging research topics to identify mobilization needs and reduce knowledge‑to‑action gaps.
• Contribute to reporting to senior management and executive team.
• Provide strong leadership for direct reporting staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Post‑secondary level education, preferably a master’s or doctoral degree in a health‑science discipline.
• Minimum of three years of related experience in knowledge mobilization roles (e.g., knowledge generation and synthesis; product development; translation, exchange, and dissemination; management; evaluation).
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English;
  French is an asset.
• Experience in identifying, applying, and evaluating effective practices in knowledge mobilization.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, consultation, and data collection through surveys, focus groups, and social media.
• Experience using IT for knowledge mobilization (digital platforms, websites, web‑based collaborative tools).
• Demonstrated experience with project and/or program management: creating, managing and delegating workplans; identifying risks; strategizing with senior leadership.
• Experience or expertise in transfusion, cellular therapies, transplantation, stakeholder/public engagement, non‑profit management, or communications is an asset.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
