Position: Pharmaceutical Reviews Officer (temporary, 12 months )

Salary range: $70,890 to $86,650 per year

Hybrid Work Arrangement

Employees participate in a hybrid workspace arrangement with a minimum of 2 days onsite, though this requirement may vary based on business and operational needs.

Primary Focus

The Pharmaceutical Reviews Officer works within multidisciplinary research teams to prepare reports that address specific research and/or policy questions regarding pharmaceutical products. This role creates high‑quality products to facilitate decision‑making about drug policies.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Work within multidisciplinary review teams to prepare reports on pharmaceutical‑related research and/or policy questions.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, critical appraisals, evidence syntheses, indirect comparisons, meta‑analyses, and systematic reviews.
  • Support other reviewers in the production of reports or other products as required.
  • Act as an expert resource for critical appraisal of clinical studies, scientific report authorship, and related topics.
  • Provide project status updates to the Senior Pharmaceutical Review Officer and/or Pharmaceutical Review Manager to ensure appropriate project conduct, achievement of priorities, and compliance with policies.
  • Support current program priorities and initiatives aligned with corporate objectives to enhance transparency and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Is this the right role for you?
  • Graduate degree in a health‑related discipline (biostatistics, epidemiology, pharmacy, health economics, medicine) plus research experience, with the ability to conduct critical appraisals, systematic reviews, meta‑analyses, and/or health technology assessments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in research methods, systematic reviews, pharmaceutical appraisals, HTA development and application, evidence‑based medicine, and study design.
  • Understanding of the Canadian health‑care system, relevant legislation, regulation, and decision‑making processes related to reviews.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strength in scientific or technical report writing.
  • Ability to speak effectively before expert groups and diverse audiences.
  • Experience collaborating, prioritizing, and balancing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
